September 2014 Meeting in Review

A new season for the Guild began with great attendance and lots of information and inspiration to be shared.

Our Guild President started with an update on several items, including a review of this year’s budget for the guild.  Those present were asked to approve the budget and it was passed with no objections.  The position for Blog Administrator was filled right there in the meeting.  The President also called for help organizing celebrations to mark the 25th anniversary of the guild in 2015.

There were Door prizes won and it was a busy summer for many members who treated the group to a wonderful presentation of show and tell items.  New opportunities/challenges were presented including the first Block of the Month for 2014-2015 (templates coming via email or regular mail), Outreach blocks (let the executive know of a local charity that would be worthy of receiving the quilt), and the 25th Guild Anniversary challenge of “Doorways to the Silver Anniversary of LCQG – 25 Years of Quilting Together” (hint: think about that silver fabric received at the meeting).

We were then treated to a trunk show from the Appliqué Group from Brockville.  Amazing work was shown from these talented ladies.
