This is the king size Double Wedding Ring quilt I made for our son and daughter-in-law to celebrate their marriage in November 2024. The bride chose the pattern and colours and we shared the progress and photos with each other by email for months leading up to the wedding. The pattern is a hybrid of the Quilt worx pattern, "Flowers for my Wedding Ring". All of the arcs and flying geese were paper-pieced and the top was constructed using the traditional curved row method. The bride didn't want the flower applique, so I designed the diamond design that was hand appliqued to 2 opposing corners. The exquisite quilting was done by Carol Darou which included special "mountain" designs in the borders to highlight one of their favourite things about living in Alberta. It truly was a labour of love and I cherish the experience.

This is my first submission to the Guild Show and Tell. Quick story about me. I started quilting about 25 years ago and then stopped. Recently retired and very much enjoying my return to the quilting world. I joined the Guild this past September and have thoroughly enjoyed the meetings. Everyone is so inspiring. Although it's not complete, I'm very proud of my Lil Twister quilt (aka twisted sister).I'd like to give a shout out to Sue for teaching us this technique on 21 Feb and Rosalie for hosting it at Sew Crafty. I'm already planning my next one!
