May Show & Tell

Hey, everyone.  My day started at 9 am taking a Landscape workshop with Jane Roszell at the Lion's Hall.  A good number of members there, lots of samples, lots of demos, everyone with different photos to work from.

Can't wait to try cheesecloth.  It was a very good day, I hope to have mine to show at the June Potluck with everyone else.  Left at 4pm, and came back at 6 pm to everything set up for the evening meeting.

All the Guild Improv Challenges were set up for Viewer's Choice. I got pictures of all of them and have posted them on the Lanark County Quilters Guild public page on Facebook.  Check them out there.  The votes were tallied at the break, and presented after Show & Tell.  First place Viewer's Choice went to Dee O'Connor, 2nd place Mary Cunningham, and 3rd place went to Christine Covey.  There were 14 entries that came in and they were all stunning, so much creativity.

Tuesday night was also a Stash Sale, where members could sell some of their extra stash, and other members could pick up some fabric they were needing lol.  Even the Guild Library culled some of their books for a modest cost to make room for more.

Tonight was also our AGM and that went remarkably quick, even with the number of changes to the By-Laws.  We also accepted in a new Vice-President for the new term starting in September. Welcome Aboard Dianne! We were also presented with the line-up of the new Management team for the new term.

Next month is our June Potluck, for members, and it starts at 6pm.  I wonder if I'll make a new placemat to take for my place setting.  Hmmm. lol  The Show & Tell next month should be packed with workshop projects and Block of the Months.

See you next month, Cathy
