Kathy Wylie’s pattern “ Birth Flowers —May” featuring Hawthorn & Lily of the Valley. I modified the pattern to include the emerald jewel. I made the 20” pillow cover and used a wide cord for the edge.It was appliquéd using a mixture of Apliquick & Steam-a-seam 2. There is some hand embroidery. The cover was quilted using my domestic sewing machine . All the fabric is from my and my friends’ stash.

Sagittarious Nov 22 – Dec 21 Flower is Chrysanthemums Birthstone Topaz You will notice on the pocket are a topaz stone on the buttons; The Apron Fabric is Chrysanthemums

September Sapphire & Morning Glories – I used a remnant of a Kaffe fabric I had that just gave a Morning glory vibe.

My challenge piece is called Peridot and Poppies for my August birthday. It measures 23 inches square and is machine applique and free motioned quilted on a hand dyed piece of fabric. Peridot dress is made up of petals cut from the flowers.

“Sunflowers”. Emerald is the birthstone for May and I discovered that Sunflowers are one of the many flowers for that month.

This quilt was completed all by hand: hand appliqued, hand embroidered to accent, and hand quilted with long stitching.
