Hawaiian Hand Quilting Workshop with Sue ShermanThis is a slow stitching workshop to make a small (20″) Hawaiian quilt while learning about some of the social and cultural significance of quilting in Hawaii. Join Newmarket and award winning quilter Sue Sherman for 2 half day workshops. Week one learn to hand appliqué the traditional Hawaiian technique, Week two learn hand quilting.

10 a.m. to 1 p.m. EST

The Pineapple, one pattern available to participants at the workshop.

This is a slow stitching workshop to make a small (20″) Hawaiian quilt or cushion using traditional Hawaiian quilting techniques, choosing from a selection of authentic patterns courtesy of Poakalani. Join Newmarket, Ontario and award winning quilter Sue Sherman for 2 half day workshops. Week one learn to hand appliqué the traditional Hawaiian technique, Week two learn hand quilting.



This “Spirt of Hula” is a larger sample of what can be accomplishing using the workshop techniques.


The Silversword using Hand Dyed Fabric available for the workshop. This pattern is one option available to participants.

Cost: $40 for members; $50 for non members. There is a $1.50 fee if paying by PayPal
