Check out February's Show & Tell

Members have been busy this month, from felt hand stitching, to the Temperature Challenge, to Block of the Month challenges, to SAQA challenges. Take a look below.

Anita Payne: "The Red Herrings of Climate Change". I made it for the SAQA call for entry "Color in Context: Red". It was entered just on time but I won't know if it is accepted until the end of March.

Anita Payne: The Spotlight auction piece is called "Red Cedar Highlights". It is made from a rejected piece that was to be in my portrait of a Western Red Cedar tree. It is 6"x8" and will be in the auction at the end of April.

Debbie Foster: Granite City using many of my favourite batik scraps. Long arm quilted by a friend from Virginia.

Last November, 23 members signed up for the Temperature Quilt Group. We’ve been meeting via Zoom each month to talk about our journey and to show off our projects as we progress. A Temperature quilt is a depiction of the high and low temperatures for each day of the year. Members have been diligently recording the temperatures for this year and working on their blocks as the days go by. Others are researching days for a significant year in their past. Here’s a sample of a few as of mid February.

And Linda Lake's temperature quilt in layout!
