Show & Tell January 2026

Here we are in a brand new year.  It's 2026 and cold outside, and our meeting is on Zoom.  Everyone has been held up in their sewing rooms for the winter, as I received quite a few photos for the Show & Tell for this evening.

Block of the Month is The Ladybug. I loved doing these. I hope everyone is enjoying doing theirs. Thank you to Alexis for designing this quilt, and presenting it.

I hope everyone is working on their Guild Challenge 'Improv for Everyone' as the deadline is the May meeting.  And if you're looking for something else to make, you can do an 18" quilted piece for the CQA Member Guild Challenge 'What Canada Means to Me', due in April 2026.

We will be having an in-town Spring Retreat in March 2026. They're calling it 'Stitching Out of Hibernation'.  Sign-ups are happening.

The Christmas QT was a huge success, aprons, ornaments, and a Toonie game.  The food was spectacular, as always, and a huge thank you to the Lombardy Ladies.

Our Guest Speaker this month was Lori DeJarnett from Humble Quilts, presenting Reruns-Quilts Inspired by the Past. What a beautiful array of quilts.

The Guild Library keeps adding lots of new books to borrow, there is never a lack of inspiration.

Our Shop of the Month was 'Nuts for Bolts Etc' from Calgary, Alberta.  There was a lot of fabric in that shop, as she walked around with her camera. Our President, Jane, has been there, and said she had a blast.

Can't wait until our next meeting in February, hope to see you on Zoom.
